One of India’s biggest public sector general insurer, New India Assurance (NIA) led consortium of public sector insurance companies has been awarded the contract to insure Air India’s huge fleet of 126 aircrafts worth 9.5 billion dollars. The consortium outbid the tender submitted by private general insurance companies, for this contract floated by Air India. NIA will insure Air India for 9.5 billion insurance cover for a premium of $22.5 million, which would be a one of the biggest aircraft insurance deals in the whole of Southeast Asia. "" FLASH - FLASH - FLASH "" - TRANSFER GRANT TO CLASS-3 & 4 - HALF DAY CLs; LEAVE ENCASHMENT & OTHER BENEFITS

DEAR FRIENDS,

Today Management has issued the Administrative Instructions on the following matters:

1. Payment of diffeence in Transfer Grant to Supervisory, Clerical & Sub-
    ordinate Staff, the eligible employee (as explained in HO circular
    dt.20.10.2008) should also be released difference in transfer grant on
    the same lines as applicable to Officers.

The following are effective from 01st January, 2011

2. On not more than 6 (six) occassions in a calender year, can allow an employee to avail of casual leave either for the forenoon only or for the afternoon only and the period of leave taken in this manner shall be treated as HALF DAY. (no change of total CL's restricted to maximum of 12 days in a calender year apart from 2 RH.) 
3. Minimum EL can be availed for 6 days instead of 7 days earlier.
4. Saturday, Sunday, Restricted Holidays and Holidays, whether intervening, prefixed or suffixed, shall not be counted as Casual Leave.

The following are effective from 01st December, 2010

5. The employees seeking Leave Encashment for 15 days need not forego
     an additional 15 days, in a block of 2 years.
6. HRA will be taken into consideration as a part of Salary whilst calculating amount of encashment of earned leave during the service for Class-3 & 4 employees.

The GICEU-AP wishess all the members and mebers of their families a Happy Deepavali(.) On behalf of all the members of GICEU-AP, we express our sincere thanks to All our "NFGIE" Leaders who have strived every nerve and struggled hard not only in negotiating with GIPSA but also making GIPSA Management to understand the strong feelings and expectations of all classes of General Insurance employees, during the series of wage talks for getting ever Best Wage Revision-2010. This could so happen due to unstinted support & co-operation extended by all our members for wage struggle and thus succeeeded in protecting our legitimate right of getting a good Wage Revision(.) Unity is our strength(.)

The long awaited wage arrears have been received by all the General Insurance employees'on the historical day - 01st day of November, 2010 i.e. Andhra Pradesh Formation Day for our State and before this big festival "DEEPAVALI" all over India in general(.)
